PRESENTATIONHello, Community MSI.My name is Daniel Artony, I am currently going through a very intriguing problem, the main output of Audio the motherboard MSI H97 Gaming 3, BIOS 1.10 (1.A), Audio Codec Realtek ALC1150 HD, Current Driver: 6.0. Which, frankly and literally, is taking me some good hours of sleep.(Driver already tested: 6.0.1.7541).I am here to ask for some information or advice on how to solve the problem, because everything I have done, had no effect.2. PROBLEM DESCRIPTIONThe problem is really annoying, thought-provoking and challenging! I strongly suspect that may be related to recent BIOS update that did. Because, coincidentally or not, it started performing after this procedure. Already arrived at test other drivers and even other Operating System (Windows 8 Pro), but the problem persisted in the same way.The audio played through of jack main output speaker and headphone is extremely low, trapped, suffocated, chewed, tablet, simmered, clicked, contained, etc., these are the most relevant words I found to give a better sense of how bad is the sound, tested in three different headphones and a speaker.Emphasizing that, when connected to other audio sources, out of ALC1150 codec, headphones and speaker work perfectly.3.
It's likely the Realtek drivers, which suck. MSi will tell you there is nothing they can do, which is actually true since they don't make the drivers. I had a similar issue with a different motherboard, detailed here:I would recommend uninstalling the Realtek drivers, reboot, and let the generic Windows drivers install. I'm assuming this still applies for Windows 10, but not sure since I don't use that OS. This 'corrected' the problem for me, clearly indicating it was a driver issue and not a hardware issue.
Mar 10, 2017 Hello, I take the initiative and create this thread since the old one is getting too big and people mix windows 7 and windows 10 methods. The purpose of this thread is to help people, who are using windows 10 and Realtek R2.80 or newer driver version, unlock DTS and Dolby Digital playback. Hello: I have my realtek driver tweaked in windows 7, I have it set in the registry to have 2 outputs, instead of one - will the new win 10 driver be able to be adjusted. Thanks New RealTek HD Audio Driver available in WU in Drivers and Hardware.
Hopefully this is the case for you, otherwise a RMA will be necessary.I didn't find the generic drivers to suit my needs however (no audio enhancements/tweaks/etc.), so I installed a dedicated sound card and never dealt with the Realtek driver BS again. Hi there.I have had that problem since I bought my computer and built it myself. To make an almost-2-years-old story short:- MSI Gaming 5 z97 bought in Spain.- I Live in China and didn't use it until I moved in here (days after I bought it).- Jacks work horrible. The back one makes all of the things the OP said and other weird ones like audio won't be fully heard in the right speaker until I reach like 80% Windows volume.- USB Audio works bad but bearable, sometimes I get an audio sounds errors but the audio won't be fully heard in the right speaker until I reach like 80% Windows volume. Also I think there are still some games in which I cant heard fully from my right ear.For the sake of the diagnosis.
I have- Tried everything from software and drivers. Different realtek versions, Win 8.1 default driver, Win 10 default driver and got the same.- Disassembled the computer and made sure there's no grounding.- Disassembled again and put a carton to avoid contact between NZXT Panthom 410 and motherboard.- Contacted MSI France for English support. They told me warranty was only for Europe but still told me to ask in the MSI Beijing support 'offices'.
A repair should be 80 CNY.- Brought the thing. They say they tested it. Still they gave me a 'new one'.- Removed unnecessary periphericals, wires, even switching RAMs and even removing the GPU.- Problem persists. By elimination method, I think its my brand new NZXT 410 Phantom and stop worrying about it by using the USB-AUDIO workaround until I leave China and drop the box there.- Been bearing with this for almost 2 years, usually wearing headphones because Speakers had to be at 100% and windows audio volume at 2%- Arrived in Spain today, and I was so sure it was the box! My new box has the exact problem, plus.
Sound in the right side is EVEN LOWER.- Been very sad today.
